Recovery Is Not One-Size-Fits-All
Some clients work best in 12-step recovery. Others find that approach doesn't fit and benefit from harm reduction or moderation-focused work. Both are valid paths, and we don't push a single model. We meet you where you are and build a plan that has a real chance of holding.
What We Help With
- Alcohol use
- Substance use (stimulants, opioids, cannabis, etc.)
- Behavioral addictions (gambling, sex, food)
- Co-occurring mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD)
- Family members affected by a loved one's addiction
Our Approach
We use Motivational Interviewing to support genuine, internally-driven change rather than pressured compliance. CBT helps with relapse prevention and rewiring the cognitive patterns that fuel use. For clients whose substance use is connected to trauma — which is most of them — we incorporate trauma work directly. We're also fluent in 12-step recovery and can integrate with sponsors and meetings if that's part of your path.
For LGBTQ+ Clients in Recovery
The intersection of identity and addiction is often a significant part of the work. Internalized stigma, chemsex, recovery community fit, and minority stress all show up. We're affirming and specific about how identity and recovery intersect.
Higher Levels of Care
Outpatient therapy isn't right for every stage of recovery. If a higher level of care (IOP, residential, detox) is appropriate, we'll say so directly and help coordinate the transition.
